Help Those with the Most Need and the Fewest Options!
Last year, we had seven special, chronic, or acute medical needs. We had a dog who had heartworm and seizures, a kitten who needed an amputation, a cat with a bad upper respiratory infection who required almost a week of hospitalization, and a case of persistent and mysterious intestinal issues, just to name a few. All of these animals have been happily adopted to forever-homes!
That's part of what we do at Broad Shoulders - we care for not just the cute and healthy, but all animals who need help and have nowhere else to turn. Of course, it's not easy on the bank. When times get tough, we rely on our emergency medical fund. Contributions toward these animals who need us the most allows us more free time (and money) to put toward getting more foster homes, advertising the animals who are still in foster care, getting more adoptions, and saving more animals.
